The Legacy Show

Critics rave that violinist Tami Lee Hughes “rises to considerable technical challenges,” playing with a sound “reminiscent of Perlman.” Her Legacy Show is a multimedia concert of music by African-American composers performed with pianist Byron BurfordPhearse, featuring classical music infused with a variety of styles, including spirituals, blues, gospel, hip-hop, and jazz. Portraying cultural themes of the Antebellum Period, the Harlem Renaissance, the Civil Rights Era, and Modern Times, the program includes poetry and visual media.

EnVaGe/Earl Braggs

UTC CADEK ORCHESTRA

The UTC Cadek Orchestra, conducted by UTC Music Professor Sandy Morris, is a 55-member college/community orchestra including university music majors and non-majors from UTC and Chattanooga State, UTC music faculty members, area music educators, and other talented amateur and professional musicians from the region. It performs two concerts per year. Both concerts are free to the public.
