The title character of Madame Butterfly – a young Japanese geisha who clings to the belief that her arrangement with a visiting American naval officer is a loving and permanent marriage – is one of the defining roles in opera. The lyric beauty of Puccini’s score has made Butterfly timeless. Experience lavish sets and costumes and gorgeous music provided by guest soloists, the CSO orchestra, and CSO chorus.

Fiddler Eileen Ivers has established herself as the pre-eminent exponent of the Irish fiddle in the world today. She is Grammy awarded and Emmy nominated, and has guest starred with the London Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, and with over 40 other orchestras. She is the original Musical Star of Riverdance, Nine Time All-Ireland Fiddle Champion, founding member of Cherish the Ladies, and has performed for Presidents and Royalty worldwide.

CSO Masterworks Series Mozart & Mahler

Mozart’s Don Giovanni opera is based on the legend of Don Juan, a nice follow-up to the CSO’s Opening Night concert. The opera combines comedy, melodrama, and supernatural elements.
