Homeschool Day

Birding at the Tennessee River Gardens

Late summer is a great time to bird watch and late September is the peak of fall migration.  Join Kevin Calhoon, Curator of Forests at the Aquarium, for a birding walk at River Gardens, an important riparian Tennessee River habitat and migration area.  Kevin will help spot and share great information, from identification by markings, song, behavior and habitat, and also how to correctly use binoculars.  Please bring binoculars if possible.

Tennessee River Rescue

Close to 30 years ago, a group of environmentalists decided enough was enough. Disgusted by the trash lining the Tennessee River, they started a grassroots efforts to make a difference in the Scenic City. Each year volunteers help protect our source of drinking water during Tennessee River Rescue. Love, Agnes: Postcards from an Octopus Reading
