Southern Lit Alliance will host bestselling fiction duo Tom Franklin and Beth Ann Fennelly on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Arts Building, located on the corner of 11th and King Streets. The event schedule consists of a cocktail reception with Franklin and Fennelly for VIP ticket-holders at 5 PM and a reading at 6 PM. A book signing will immediately follow.
General Admission tickets begin at $15. A student ticket is available for $5 with a valid student ID. VIP tickets, which include the reception, reserved seating, and fast track super powers at the book signing cost $25.
Tom Franklin is the author of a collection of stories, Poachers, which won the Edgar Award for its title novella. He has written three novels, Hell at the Breech, Smonk and Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter, which won the Willie Morris Prize in Southern Fiction, the LA Times Book Award for Mystery/Thriller and the UK’s Golden Dagger Award for Best Novel.
Beth Ann Fennelly directs the MFA Program at the University of Mississippi. Her work has won a Pushcart Prize and three times been included in The Best American Poetry Series. Fennelly has published three full-length poetry books. Her first, Open House, won The 2001 Kenyon Review Prize, the Great Lakes College Association New Writers Award, and was a Book Sense Top Ten Poetry Pick.
